WinRunner support for Unicode Character Set
In the process of writing a function to read in an XML file which is of UTF-16 encoding and saved as UNICODE type, file_get_line() returns characters (something like ÿþ) that are not in the file. Seems like these are diacritical characters.
On saving the file as ANSI or UTF-8 types I was able to read the contents of the XML file line by line...
Is any one aware of WinRunner's limitation in reading characters that are beyond the ANSI character set....Any work around suggestions if you have please let me know...
Re: WinRunner support for Unicode Character Set
With Globalization and localization of the developed software applications underway in many companies I believe there should be someone in the Testing profession who has come across the need for using a Tool that supports automation for Internationalized applications.
We are using WinRunner as I mentioned in the issue above. Please share your experiences if you have used WinRunner and have done automation(Like if MI does provide an Add-In for Unicode Support). Any awareness if MI QuickTestPro has this capability or not.
I would really appreciate your feedback.
