    Install ActiveX add-in

How do I find out whether I have installed add-in support for ActiveX? I remember I chose Typical as the type of installation which should include ActiveX. How do I know for sure ActiveX was installed?

    Many thanks

Go to help->About WinRunner. It will show what addins are installed, and which are loaded.

    Re: Install ActiveX add-in

    Thank you very much.

I'm now quite sure I have activeX installed and loaded (WinRunner 7.5 build 7263). But it doesn't seem to work. I can not see any activeX properties when using GUI spy on an ActiveX control and can not use ActiveX_get_info. The function always returns -1 and I know the property is there.

    Any ideals?

    Re: Install ActiveX add-in

Is this a desktop application or a web app with an activex container wrapping other activex controls?

Desktop application. The front end is written in VB.

    Thanks for your reply.

    Re: Install ActiveX add-in

Are you starting WinRunner before your application under test?

    Re: Install ActiveX add-in

Yes. I start WR first then our application. I got a WR patch from one of my colleagues which makes WR able to record vb_name for an ActiveX control. We were told that when loading WR only loads VB add-ins not ActiveX add-ins. Then I found after I installed this patch, I got other problems. I have raised a topic in the forum. I would appreciate very much if you could take a look at the topic (vb_name in GUI map learned properties).

Thank you very much for your help
