I am using WinRunner 7.5, on IE 5.5. I have the winrunner web addon activated.
I run winrunner first and then open IE. I then try to Learn the GUI map for the web page I am on. This is where I have my problem.
Say there are 10 input fields capable of receiving text input. I have to visit each one and Learn it. Why can't I just click on the IE window and let it learn all the objects on the screen. When I do this it learns all the objects that are part of IE, but none of the objects that are actually part of the web page. I just find the way I am having to learn the GUI map very time consuming.
Try learning by clicking somewhere in the main html display frame as opposed to the IE window frame (but not actually on any individual object). It should then treat the whole frame as a "window" object and offer to learn all the objects contained by it.
Charles Reace (charlesDOTreaceATverizonDOTnet) "Forward!" he cried from the rear, and the front ranks died.
The generals sat, and the lines on the map moved from side to side.

Thanks for the speedy response.I will give it a go in the morning (as its 22:10) here in the UK. I will let you know how it goes. I think I have already tried what you are suggesting. If you are interested in seeing what I am talking about, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I would prefer to give you the website I am talking about privately rather than putting it up on the forum.
