If you have used WinRunner for years, then just contact Mercury for a CPS exam. It costs $500.
If not, then you will REALLY need some training. http://www.qatraining.net has an online course for $900 for WinRunner and $400 for TestDirector. and Mercury partners as well as Mercury has an instructor lead class every month which costs about $3000 for both WinRunner and TestDirector. $2500 for WR and $500 for TD. And the TestSuite Certification Exam comes from them... And of course you will still have to do a lot of research! It averages 200 hours of work to get the CPS exam done... And you are not guaranteed a passing grade either, it's not that simple!
According to your experience, how easy or difficult could be getting the Mercury Test Suite certification for a person who has been working with Winrunner from 1.5 to 2 years (full time) and Test Director for 6 months?
I am interesting in obtaining the certification, but I am not sure if that time of experience is enough.
To get certified / success one should get trained on WinRunner Tool / work experience with the Tool.
Always the idea behind the Certification is misunderstood. The WinRunner Test Suit Exam is to make the candidate familiar with the WinRunner Tool & Test Director Functionality. To handle real time situation & able to implement the automation successfully.
The WinRunner Pass percentage is 90%(this is not exact figure. This is ball park no.) among appeared candidates.
