I'm new to the WinRunner scene and have spent about two weeks using the product. My company is researching if it would be profitable to send me to an advanced WinRunner 7.5 Training session. Is there any advice from those who know the product or have taken the course?
Well after two weeks do you think you're ready for an advanced class? I can honestly say I have been playing at the product for a lot longer than that but wouldn't attempt an advanced class before getting the basics down. Along with Jean's advice, maybe you want to look at the week long session offered by Mercury.
Did not find the beginners course by MI useful. It was more at marketing level. 80 to 90 % of it can be gained by self study. i feel you should explore the possibility of going in for advanced training or better certification after self study.
I went to the training in December. I found it to be very useful.
I would suggest that you try and use winrunner for a few months before going to the training because then you will find it a lot more educational because if you are a total novice at winrunner and go you will be spending your time trying to get the basics rather than honing the things you are already doing. Also if you have a programming background it helps a LOT!!
So in short, Good Training, but struggle and get familliar with Winrunner first, then go to the training.
