I am using get_clipbrd_text() with the possibility that the content of the clipboard is pretty big (500-1000 lines).
Sometims it hangs but othertimes I get the following error message:
C:\Program Files\Mercury Interactive\WinRunner\lib\cso32lib (191):
Error: function 'GlobalLock': RPC ERROR
text_str = GlobalLock(clip_handle);
How can I trap this error so that the window doesn't come up? Is that possible or must I use define_popup_exception() and then close the window in my error handling function?
I.e.: what I'd like here is to trap the error as early on in the process as possible. Is WinRunner designed to do this gracefully or does it only work well when it is a dealing with a silly, light-flavored error?
Keep me posted.
Re: Error Handling
RPC ERROR means an error which occurred inside a call to an external function in a dll. Because WinRunner execution is suspended when the function call occurrs, there's no way to provide error handling (unless you have the source code to the dll).
