Does the scripts recorded in Windows2000 machine can be executed in WindowsNT machine
We have recorded our scripts in Windows2000 machine. Our requirement is to run these scripts in Windows NT machine. Similarly another one is shall we run our server in one machine and client in Windows machine and do the recording.
Re: Does the scripts recorded in Windows2000 machine can be executed in WindowsNT machine
I have recorded scripts on Win2000 and then tried to run them on WinNT. On several occasions, the scripts failed to find an object and stopped when ran on WinNT. However, the same script did complete successfully on Win2000.
The problem was fixed by manually inserting set_window commands in the script before it looks for the object. These were not needed when running the script on Win2000, but of course, they do no harm.
Apparently on WinNT, WinRunner loses object focus easier.
