    Dear all,

    I have created a compiled module by name comparison_1.
    This script is located in the default WinRunner folder.

    Suppose, i need to get this function from the function generator, how do i
    do it?

    Thanks for the previous responses...
    I have finally managed to create a user defined function.....
    create a compiled module and have used those in my scripts using LOAD
    command...

    I just need this function to be in my function generator..
    how do i do it?

    Regards,
    Sunil.

    Re: Configuring a User defined function in to the Function generator.

    try using the functions mentioned below and get the help from TSL reference
    # adding the name of the category to the FG
    generator_add_category("Application");

    #Adding the function to the list of functions In FG
    generator_add_function("function name"," what the function does" ,4,"object","type_edit","","arg","type_edit","\"ar g2"","arg3","type_edit","","arg4","type_edit","" );
    # associates the function to the category defined

    generator_add_function_to_category("Application"," function name");
    Hope this helps you

    WR 7.5: Chapter 45: Customizing the Function Generator
    WR 7.01: Chapter 43: Customizing the Function Generator

    I don’t have manuals for any other version. If you don’t have these
    versions, look in your Table of Contents or “function generator” in the
    index.

    Re: Configuring a User defined function in to the Function generator.

    Link to example code: 16846341.zip

    The example will add Two funcrions to the "Function Generator".

    You can have parameters and drop down listbox items, see on-line help or manual for details.

    Short answer:

    RTFM. If you cannot locate, you won´t be capable to use it since that
    consumes much more braincell power than finding a page in the dox...

    Long answer:
    Seriously: The User´s Guide has a chapter "Configuring WinRunner", there is
    a subchapter "Customizing the Function Generator", and there you go.

    Also look into TSL help file under "function generator":

    generator _add _category
    Adds a category to the Function Generator.

    generator _add _function
    Adds a function to the Function Generator.

    generator _add _function_to_category
    Adds a function defined in the Function Generator to a category.

    generator _add _subcategory
    Adds a subcategory to a category in the Function Generator.

    generator _set _default _function
    Sets a default function for a Function Generator category.

    Let me know if that helped.

    Jordan,

    just in case you´re interested: You can download all WR manuals (including
    those for older versions) at MI´s support website if you have an active
    support contract.
