Editing the contents of a Data Table

    Dear All,

As we know winrunner uses the concept of data table for data driven tests,
when data table is created using Tools -> Data Table... (menu option),
winrunner creates a .xls file and stores it in a particular location. TSL
statements can be used to open this data table and fetch the records.

Now, if I have to modify the contents of this data table I SHOULD open this
using Data Table menu option and edit the contents.

As the data table is an xls file, if I edit the same using Microsoft EXCEL
(the edited file I am saving as Microsoft Excel 5.0/95 format - suggested by
manual) , winrunner will not fetch the new values but fetches the old values
    only ! any IDEAS ?

    Regards
    SANTU.

    Hi,

You will open the Data Table in MS Excel, change the modification and save
    the file.
Then winrunner will fetch the new values.

    bye.

ddt_open command, winrunner will fetch new values..

Another reason (depending on your environment): If you're connected to TD,
and you've saved the file on your TD server, you may have TWO copies of the
file, and you need to make sure that BOTH files (the one on the server and
the one in the TD_72 or TD_75 (etc.) folder are the way you want. If you're
connected to TD, WR may be pulling the data from your C:\TD_7x directory and
the changes you make manually to the one on the TD server, may not be
    caught.
