You're doubting yourself. It means just that, except it is not limited by
'non object based gui objects'. Text verification is simply that, verifying
text. Whether it's in a character based or gui application. The application
presents some text, and you use text verification to verify that you got
what you were expecting, or not.

With regard to your second question. I'm going to assume that you are using
WR to drive your Web Logic application. When your application generates an
error, tell winrunner to set focus to the web logic console, and get the
error message out of it, and report it where ever you want. Then set focus
back to your application and it's error, and continue doing what you have to
