    menu_select_item() in a Java application? Not working correctly...

    User (christopher.j.meisenzahl@citicorp.com.nospam) posted:

    I attempted this originally but it didn't work. It opened the Help menu then
    just gave up claiming it couldn't find the About menu.
    menu_select_item("Help:About CACS Anywhere");

    I found this workaround buried in the Kbase. Only use the terminating item in
    the function call. The problem is I can only get it to work sometimes. There's
    must be some kind of contextual issue going on.
    menu_select_item("About CACS Anywhere");

    Anyone deal with this before or have any ideas?

    Thanks very much!

    I think the menu item separator should be a semi-colon. But it's not
    likely to work... I've never seen menu_select_item() work when used with
    a full menu path. I've always had to split it up some way or another, it
    was never very reproducible.

    Richard,

    Thanks again.

    I tried that with no luck. ;-)
    Also, most of the menu items don't have hotkeys.

    Try executing the following two statements just before your menu_select_item:

    reload("java_wr_supp",1,1);
    reload("java_supp",1,1);
