Recording mode - defaulting to Analog : custom controls
User iamthekingin (firstname.lastname@example.org) posted:
I am automating an application written in VC and using lots of custom
controls and embedded objects like few ocx controls ( directory
browsing) , a third party spread application ( objective Grid) etc.
As a result of this all of the recording I do using context sensitive
mode is getting as Analog mode. This making my script highly
depedent and specific for perticular data/ screen size etc.
What is solution? How to make WR to recognise controls and object
irrespective of screen location. Everything should work in Context
sens mode. Are there any TSL functions to help me out this in this.
In my application, major comp is Directory browser OCX. So when I
record and select some file what is recorded is coordinates of where
and all clicked NOT on what all names ( of folders and drives) I
clicked. Tommorrow, If the directory structure changes say one
folder added or removed. whole script goes for toss and I need to re-
record the script.
In general, you would not want to record Analogue mode, but it becomes the =
only option when there is no context sensitive actions available for the ob=
ject you are trying to work with.
Press F2 once and you start recording in CS mode, press F2 twice and you wi=
ll record analogue mode.
