I'm not sure about question1. Are you saying the browser is originally recognized, as Browser Main Window, but then turns into mic_unknown_class? If the window is always mic_unknown_class, it indicates one of the following:
1) WinRunner is improperly installed.
2) You're not starting WinRunner with the web test addin.
3) You're launching the browser before launching WinRunner.
For question number 2, attached is a file called predator.exe. Copy this into a directory on your computer which is included in the system PATH variable. Then execute the following to kill the browser:
I am using WR 7.0 and IE 5.5.
Does not IE5.5 is supported by WR 7.0

I am new to winrunner. Just Yesterday I came to know about this forum.
While recording an web application I got window name as 'mic_unknown_class' though my web name page is somethings else (
set_window ("mic_unknown_class", 19);
Can any please suggest why I am getting window name as above and what is the solution or workaround for the same.
From one of my colleague I came to know that when winrunner does not recognize any window it gives name like 'mic_unknown_class' .
