    Daily Headaches with WinRunner

After using the WinRunner system intensely over the past 3-4 months I have come up with the below list of daily issues with the WinRunner system. If anyone has experienced some of these problems please post to the group.

I find it very difficult to contend with these issues day-in and day-out. I am using WinRunner 7.01 and TestDirector 7.2 SP 4. Are these inconveniences just part of "the job" of test automation or am I missing something?

    1. Fill out a dialog box and "save". AUT states that "required fields" are missing. However, all fields are correctly filled and contain the correct data. Manually hitting the "save" results in a successful transaction.

    2. Performing a "set_window" is unsuccessful until test machine is rebooted.

    3. Enter/saving data within AUT are intermittently successful. Usually have to resort to invoking a keyboard command (ie., type("<kF12>")

    4. Occasionally, the WinRunner system will not place data in a text field. If a break point is set, stepping through the code will set the data successfully

    5. Saving GUI Maps from WinRunner to TestDirector does not always save. It is necessary to save the GUI Map locally and then perform a "save as" and save to TestDirector project (this was impirically determined with the TD administrator and the time/date stamp on the GUI Map file)

    7. UI bugs are throughout the WinRunner and TestDirector systems (UI redrawing, deleting breakpoints doesn't always work, saving new scripts to a TestDirector project do not update in all TD treeviews without logging out)

Closing WinRunner, restarting the AUT and rebooting the test machine are daily activities required to get the WinRunner system to (occasionally) function properly.

Thanks in advanced for any help on this issue.
