Subject: Truncating a variable
I have a variable sSymbol. The value is a string: USINDEX:MSFT. I'm
to write a statement that will return only MSFT. However, I need to do
by removing the USINDEX: and not by capturing only the right-most 4
The first segment is a stock portfolio ID, the second is the name of a
symbol that is traded in the specified portfolio. I have multiple
portfolios. The portfolio name list is only 4 deep so I can write a
conditional that removes the portfolio based on a match of the first
letters, which will let me know exactly how many positions to remove.
But how do you remove the first 8 positions from USINDEX:MSFT so that
new variable contains only MSFT?
