    Problems with web_link_click...

    User tahir_lone (tahir_lone@yahoo.com.nospam) posted:

    Hi all,

I am using the web_link_click function and the html_text_link objects
have dynamic html_name values. So i have used regular expression to
overcome this problem. The description is:
    {
    class: object
    MSW_class: html_text_link
html_name:!.*is now available for rental. The.*"
    }

When i have the object selected in the Gui map and click the show
button, the object is highlighted by winrunner.

In the script i use the obj_exists function before i use the
web_link_click function. The obj_exists functions returns true and
the next line is executed which has the web_link_click function and
    winrunner hangs...

I'm not too sure whats is going wrong here, the fact is that the
obj_exists function has no problem with the html_text_link object and
its description but web_link_click seem to not cope at all.

Has anyone experienced similar type of problems or has anyone got any
ideas on how to get over this problem, please post your suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.

Tahir bhai its working fine on my machine [WR 6.02 and IE 5.0]

anyway you can try a couple of things here

1] access the link using the location property.
    2] Use object_heighlight function instead of onj-exists
[obj exists func is a little problematic at my end]

i can only hope that it helps !

    Hi,
I guess problem may be in this line in your GUI description:

html_name:!.*is now available for rental. The.*"

Use this line instaed of your description html_name:"!is now available
    for rental. The.*"

".*" should not be used in begining of the html_name.

    Thanks
    Sujata

    Hi guys,

Thanks for your suggestions, i will try using the location property.

Sujata, the html_name x & "has is now available for rental. The " & y

where x and y are dynamic values, so i have to use the regular
expression html_name:!.*is now available for rental. The.*"

I will try using location property and see how it copes with that.

I'll let you know how i get along....
