    Data table in write mode

    User Venkatesan Kuberan (it_venkat@rediffmail.com.nospam) posted:

    hi,
    Iam working in Data driven test.Here i have to create a data
    table and set some values in that table.

    And iam able to create a table in write mode and able to set
    values for first row(column headings).

    Question :-

    i have to move to the next row and have to set some values in
    the table.i used all the available functions ,but no one is
    helping.

    Functions used :-

    rc=ddt_next_row(table1);

    rc=ddt_set_row(table1,table_row); #table_row++

    rc=ddt_set_val_by_row(table1,table_row,"acct",card _num);

    for all the functions its giving error code as
    -1005(E_OUT_OF_RANGE)

    please let me know how to activate the next row and set values
    in that row.

    Thanks & Regards
    venkatesh

    Venkat,

    You can try ddt_set_row() as well.

    Hi venkat,

    why cant you use like this,

    rc = ddt_open("c:\\tmp.xls",DDT_MODE_READWRITE);
    for(i=1;i<=10;i++)

    ddt_set_val_by_row("c:\\tmp.xls",i,"acct","Anitha" );

    ddt_close("c:\\tmp.xls");

    Thanks,

    Re: Data table in write mode

    User Mohammed Nazar (nazars_in@yahoo.com.nospam) posted:

    Hello Vankat,

    U had used 3 TSL statemets to set the value in data
    table :

    rc=ddt_next_row(table1);

    rc=ddt_set_row(table1,table_row); #table_row++

    rc=ddt_set_val_by_row(table1,table_row,"acct",card _num);

    but this is not needed.

    follow these steps :

    1. open the data table using the ddt_open() statement
    in Write mode.

    2. set the value of a particular row using the
    ddt_set_val_by_row() statement
    (the other 2 TSL stmt which u written is not needed)

    3. close the data table using the ddt_close()
    statement.

    now u can see ur script working....

    bye for now...

    regards,
    s.nazar
