    Where did you find the reference to this edit_set_focus() TSL function?
    It's not in any of the docs or manuals that I've looked through but it does
    exist.

    Gary,
    You need to update the help files you are using.
    This can be found in:
    TSL Online Reference, under edit_set_focus

    "focuses on an object in an Oracle application.

    edit_set_focus ( object );

    object The logical name of the object.

    The edit_set_focus function focuses on an object when using an Oracle
    application."

    "Availability - This function is always available."

    It is also in the "TSL reference Guide, Version 7.01 " p. 214

    Re: can not recognize an edit object

    User Duane Young (duaney@inetsoftcorp.com.nospam) posted:

    Oops. Still does not work.

    When I run these scripts:
    ...
    wait(5);
    set_window("Table Properties", 60);
    edit_set_focus("style");
    obj_check_gui("Style", "list2.ckl", "gui2", 1);
    ...

    Winrunner fails at edit_set_focus("style") because it could not find the
    edit object "style".

    Actually "Style" is a JTextField. However Winrunner thinks it is an "edit"
    (See Tools->GUI Map Configuration ...).

    Because this text field is on a JPanel on the dialog, I also try this but
    still fail:
    ...
    wait(3);
    set_window("Table Properties", 60);
    wait(2);
    obj_set_focus("JPanel_4");
    wait(2);
    obj_set_focus("Style");
    wait(2);
    obj_check_gui("Style", "list3.ckl", "gui3", 1);
    ...
    Winrunner tells me JPane_4 is not operatable at this time.

    The real problem is that how to verify the value property for a JTextField
    that is within a JPanel on a dialog.

    The class_path for the dialog is
    class_path:
    "inetsoft.report.design.TableProperty;inetsoft.rep ort.design.TextProperty;in
    etsoft.report.design.PropertyDialog;javax.swing.JD ialog;java.awt.Dialog;java
    .awt.Window;java.awt.Container;java.awt.Componen",

    I attach the full properties of the 3 objects here(Sure my .gui file uses
    only the recorded properties.):

    Re: can not recognize an edit object

    User Duane Young (duaney@inetsoftcorp.com.nospam) posted:

    Hi Sankara,

    My GUI Map editor is able to find the object on the screen.

    And the more, suppose my script is like this,
    ...
    set_window("Table Properties", 60);
    obj_check_gui("Style", "list3.ckl", "gui3", 1);
    ...
    Winrunner warns me that the object Style is not found at the second line.
    Now I change the cursor to the first line, and select Run from cursor. Now
    Winrunner finds the object and the script runs successfully!

    Thanks,
    Duane Young
