    Re: SoftKey Configuration

If you are using the version 7
First try the Softkey COnfiguration tool, click on the F1 button in the Softkey tool and see if that helps.

    Otherwise...

Go to the wrun.ini file and look at the [WrCfg] area

    Hope this helps

    Re: SoftKey Configuration

    Thanks for your reply
however the softkey configuration does not give the option to change the F1 key and there is no reference to the F1 key in the wrun.ini file

    Re: SoftKey Configuration

    Try the following:

    1. Open the Softkey Configuration,
    2. Select what you want the F1 key to be in the commands area (don't click the F1 key yet) Ex: I selected "Insert Function From Function Generator
    3. Now that you have selected what you want the F1 key to be now click on the F1 key on the F1 image on the Softkey Configuration.
    4. A message box will display: "This softkey is already designed as.... Select a different softkey?"
    5. Click: No (In the Softkey label area F1 will be displayed)
    6. Click: Save
    7. Click: Exit
    8. Click: Start - Go to Run
    9. Enter: wrun.ini
    10. In the [WrCfg]section you will now notice the line:
    XR_SOFT_INSERT_FUNCTION_FROM_LIST=F1 (or whatever you picked)

    Hope this helps.

    Re: SoftKey Configuration

I have tried as you suggested but still i get the TSL online help pop-up infront of the new function i have asigned to the F1 key,
However i may have not given you enough information for the intention for the F1 key,
My intention is to totally remove any function from the F1 key, not to assign another funtion to the key as it is needed for the application am testing
    many thanks Richard

    Re: SoftKey Configuration

If you don't want the F1 key to do anything then you can go through the steps I wrote previously but for Step 6 click Clear and then click Save.

If this still doesn't work then...

Make sure WinRunner is closed, then try doing a search in the wrun.ini/necsoft.ini file for all F1's listed.
**Just to be save make a copy of these files in case something goes wrong.

After creating a copy then try deleting all the F1's listed in the files (I think this would work).

Also take a look at the WinRunner User Guide's Customation Chapter (if you're using 7.01 then it's Chapter 38)

    Good Luck!
