Normally, you don't.
The GUI Map uses the context of the window containing the object to help define it.
Normally, WinRunner considers each web page as if it were a separate context. Hence, even thought the "Cancel" buttons may all look the same, they get distinct definitions within the GUI Map.

Hello, Could anyone please offer some assistance with this GUI map issue. How do you make a particular item on your website general for other pages. For example, there is a “cancel” button which is the same html button but on different pages. I find out that when I try to learn a different page, it is learning the “cancel” button with a different name (e.g. cancel_1). How do I adjust the GUI map to use the same “cancel” button for all the different pages of my website. As it is , I may be storing 10 different cancel buttons in my editor! Thanks in advance……..
