    Re: Data Driven Testing

I believe I've read elsewhere on this forum that it cannot be done via the ddt_* functions. You might try a search here to see if anyone came up with a useful workaround. Good luck.

    Re: Data Driven Testing

This is an excerpt from the WinRunner Release notes (readme.wri):

Data-driven testing may not work properly with Excel files with multiple sheets.
Workaround: When creating a data file in Excel, put all the data in one sheet and remove the other sheets (using the Edit > Delete Sheet menu command).

    :end excerpt
Recommendation - just use different .xls files.

    HI,

I have written a script for a web application, there are 50 fields (text
boxes, check buttons, list boxes, radio buttons, text areas) in a form
(New Order Page - written in ASP). On submitting this form my
application leads me to a static page(Confirm order page - written in
ASP), displaying all the fields that were entered in the previous
screen. There is an update button on the Confirm order page, which
    updates the database.(SQL Server).
I have parameterized almost all the fields on this form, which takes
data from an excel sheet (data table).

As far as the application is concerned, if I get the Confirm Order page,
I should be able to successfully update the DB.

The problem, when I run my script the application fails, but when I
enter the same data manually or run the script with out
parameterization, the application works fine and it updates the
    database.

Since I am new to WR, please let me know if there is something more to
    data driven tests.

    Thanks in advance,
    Sockalingam

    Hi,
check whether your application clicks the Update button while
    playback?

    IF not then try this

Add a synch point for the update button in the confirm orderpage.

What is the Error message you are getting when your application script fails?

    Hello Valliyappan,
see whether after the parameterisation stmt the focus
is set back to the window using the set_window() stmt
    i.e.
after the data table is open or some operations is
done with the data table whether u r setting back the
    focus on the particular window...
I suppose this may be the cause for ur problem....
