    GUI Map not being loaded unless full path name is used

    User qa40ljp2 (Len.Penella@crbard.com.nospam) posted:

    I am using TD 7.2 SP2 to run my scripts. If I do not use the full
    path name of my GUI map when I load it in the startup script, the map
    does not get loaded. For example:
    GUI_Load ("q:\\CommDir\\ProjectName\\Tests\\GuiFiles\\guima p1.gui")
    will work, but GUI_Load("guimap1.gui") will not work.
    The GUI maps were copied through Windows Explorer from a test project
    to a production one. I do not want to use a full path name since that
    would require a different startup file for the test and production
    projects just to load the GUI map. Thanks for your help.

    You can declare a variable that contains the path to the gui file and then =
    all your script needs to contain is the file name. You might even what to s=
    et a flag so that the startup script knows when it test and when it is prod=
    uction.

    Re: GUI Map not being loaded unless full path name is used

    Try using a startup script, this way you know the gui will be loaded:

    ############################################
    #Put the following code in your startup script
    ##
    #Define Constants
    public const m_root = getenv ("M_ROOT");
    public const GUI_FILE_PATH = "q:\\CommDir\\ProjectName\\Tests\\GuiFiles\\guimap 1.gui";

    #Closes all GUI maps
    GUI_close_all();
    GUI_close("<Temporary>");

    #Loads the GUI map
    GUI_load(GUI_FILE_PATH);

    #############################################

    Make sure that you set the startup script in WinRunner as well.

    Hope this helped

    Re: GUI Map not being loaded unless full path name is used

    I noticed that the one ine got screwy when I submitted it:

    GUI_close("<Temporary>");

    Temporary with greater and less than symbols should be between the double quotes in the line GUI_close

    Re: GUI Map not being loaded unless full path name is used

    How about giving the path of current working directory under Files > Test Properties > Current Test tab.

    You can use the following code where the path will be always dynamic

    static Source_Path = getvar("testname");
    static GUI_Path = Source_Path & "\\guimap1.gui";
    rc = GUI_load(GUI_Path);
