Tesing a Java Applet Application
User V Anand (firstname.lastname@example.org) posted:
I want to test a login page which is a Java Applet
launched independently and not thrrough a browser. On
Pressing the OK button it will launch another Applet.
The login Page has User Name Text field and a Password
Text field. There are two bottons Ok and Cancel.
When iam learning the Applet window through WinRunner
GUI map editor,it learns all the components.Using
Modify i rename the editable text fields as
"User_Name" and "Password".The Buttons are OK and
The Buttons are read as Class:Object and
MSW_class:Button.Now i write a script in which i set
values for the editable text fields and then say
button_press("OK");But though it executes the script
fully and says script succesfully executed as the
final result. But it doesnt launch the other Applet
that has to be launched on the pressing of this Ok
button or the message box that has to be shown when
the cancel button is pressed.
I made the buttons as push button class by modifying
at Map Configuration editor. But it fails the next time
as the Applet is not positioned at the same place
where it was before when it was learnt using Map
Can anyone suggest a way for testing this Application?
Thanks in Advance

Are you using the Java Add-In ?. If not, you should. While some Java Toolkits (AWT) may be recognized as Standard Windows controls you cannot really achieve the full power of WinRunner without the Java Add-In.
