Off Topic - Test Director Version 6 (six)
User (email@example.com) posted:
If anyone has used test director 6, would you know if it is possible when
running automated winrunner scripts, to say only run the next script in the
test set builder if the previous script that ran has a status of passed.
I have about 25 scripts that make up a daily process that needs to be run
from test director, I want the 25 scripts to run in order, but only run the
next one if the previous passed, not failed.
I have looked at the manuals in running automated test, filters etc but no
where can I find a reference to halting a test set submission due to a run
status, it seems that if you select a test set, all the scripts in that set
are run one by one till the end with no error checking between scripts
Any help please???

There is no way to do it directly. You can fake it by using a main driver script and calling each of the subordinate scripts, checking the return code and
executing only if the return code is satisfactory. Alternately, you could use a global variable, set it to one value if you want the next script to run and
then check that value as the first activity in each script. Both options have drawbacks but will get around your problem.
