Doubt with regular expressions in WinRunner !!
Can some one explain when to use the "!" sign in the regular expressions. It's litle boggling...when to use an exclamatory mark and when not to use....
Efforts are appreciated.
Re: Doubt with regular expressions in WinRunner !!
Normally, you when you write a regular expression in WinRunner, the '!' is used as the first character to tell the interpreter to treat the rest of the string as a regular expression, i.e.:
"!This is a [Rr]egular [Ee]xpression\.";
Some WR functions which always use a reg-exp for an argument to not require this initial '!', such as:
match("some string", "[Rr]egular [Ee]xpression");
