I, happen to install winrunner6.0 on win98 in my PC and I'm really confused by it's performance. whenever I open, after loading winrunner & add-in's the Add-in-manager warns as 'Unable to launch GUI verification server'.
the application is starting though.when I'm testing a simple app like notepad or paintbrush it seems to go fine till recording but, their is no generation of script and in the run mode ie.. Run from the top option.it imm pops-up
the error message:-
"Execution has suspended in c:\programfiles\mercuryinteractive\winrunner\lib\p binit(27)changing flow will destroy the current call chain"
With paint brush, the obstruction is arising at the learning point of microsoft outlook express and the operation on the whole is getting suspended.
Do, I have to go for WIN-NT to work with winrunner or is it fine with win-98.
what are the serious setbacks when used with win-98..
I'd be grateful,if someone could clarify my doubts...
You should be able to run on WIN98. IT looks like it might be failing in the powerbuilder init - which may be an indicator of a bad install. Get a printed copy of the readme.wri file before an uninstall. Then you might try an uninstall, followed by a reboot. Then reinstall. Also, you may ultimately need to disable DCOM in the registry. Anyway, read the release notes and installation guide. Follow it to the letter. Let us know how this goes.
