WINRUNNER: FUNCTION OBJ_GET_DESC DOES NOT PROPERLY WORK ON IE
User Narayan (email@example.com) posted:
I am having a problem while executing one of the functions in IE. Can
anybody please help me to resolve this issue? The desc given by
Netscape is what i want to store in the GUI file as the description
of the push buttons. I found out that IE does not recognize the
attribute "class" as one of the object property. Is there any
solution to this problem???
The function given below does not seem to work properly on IE. It
works fine on netscape. you can notice the difference if you do "pause
(desc)" and the results are different.
To reproduce the problem do the following things:
Open up Winrunner
Paste the below given script
Open up IE and any page/application (like www.yahoo.com) which has
couple of push buttons like Search etc..
Then run it. the pause function will show you the desc.
Do the same thing on Netscape. This time the desc is different.
Re: WINRUNNER: FUNCTION OBJ_GET_DESC DOES NOT PROPERLY WORK ON IE
Have you tried using IE's description and then use that one in Netscape. I know you stated you wanted the description from Netscape, but unfortuately Microsoft decided not to support the same properties that Netscape created. However, Netscape still supports some of IE's. Hopefully this is one of them.
Give it a try, it may work in the reverse. Hope this helps.
