    Handling check-boxes

    User G Vijayaraghavan (vijayaraghavan_g@hotmail.com) posted:

    hi everyone,

i'm quite new both to WR and this group and have a small query with regards
    to search results.

the scenario is this : a search result is displayed with a check box
asociated with each result record. then i choose a specific record based on
the record-id and then want to click the check-box associated with this
particular record. can someone give me a hint on how to go abt this. pls
bear with me if it is too elementary, i'm just into my scond week of WR.

    thanks in advance...

Web app? Are the search results in a list control that contains
checkboxes? You could try recording a placeholder checkbox from your
app. Record only 1 check box from the list, remove any others from gui
map. Then check the location property, set it to zero (add location
property if not there). Whenever you pick a row from the list, you will
change the location property of the checkbox to match (0 =3D=3D 1st row).
The checkbox will now be associated with the correct row and you can
manipulate it normally. If there are other checkboxes on the screen with
the same properties you my need to adjust the location value but it
should still work. If you are working on a non-web app then I'm not sure
if this will work or not.

four columns in the table where the first column has the checkbox and the
last column is "status". my objective is check only those boxes that have a
status "pending". from what i have searched till now, there doesn't seem to
be a way to do this, hope u can help me out with yr suggestions.

    Re: Handling check-boxes

You do not need to know where it is in the page. Use the following function:
    obj_get_info("objectname","enabled",value);

This checks to see if an objects property is enabled and a checkbox when selected is enabled. This should do the trick.
