    WinRunner and WebTest

I'm trying to record a series of tests using WebTest plug in and WinRunner. The web site I am using constantly changes. Once a button is clicked and a new page is loaded I'd like to verify using the script that the correct web page has loaded. Is there any way of doing by checking the actual name of the page rather than basing it on a bitmap or content check that may constantly be changed or moved (ie. not based on x and y coordinates?). What would the function be and what parameters can be passed. Also are there any other suggestions. I'm stuck and not very familiar with the software. Plus the company I'm with has very little documentation and no one here knows the sw! Thanks!

Look into using win_check_gui(); or win_get_info(); or any of the comparable functions for objects. These will allow you to check the screen or object content, including getting window titles.

You can also try readin the html. Looking for the page name, look for the <title> tag.

    Re: WinRunner and WebTest

Thanks although all the pages may not consistently have a title and many will share the same one (yes talk about a mess). What sort of function could I use to read the HTML?
