At http://www.itechnologist.com/tech/, I find a mention of "the
dw_describe function that is provided by Mercury to call the
PowerBuilder's describe api."
I am not familiar with dw_describe(). In response to an inquiry,
MI's Mike Magallanes replied, "This function is not provided by us -
please contact the owner of the webpage to get more on it."
I contacted the Web page's owner before I communicated with MI, but I
have not yet received a reply. While I'm waiting, I'd like to know
whether anyone else can provide any info on the dw_describe()
function. Can you provide a copy of it or know where I can find
one? Do you know just what it intended to do? Have you used it?
Does it work?
Thanks for any assistance you can render.

the dw_describe function is -I think- a PowerBuilder intrinsic. You should
find documentation for it in the PB manuals/online help.
As far as I remember (my PowerBuilder experience is -fortunately- rather
old), dw_describe stands for "Describe datawindow", and it allows you to
query specific properties for a given datawindow instance.
I might be totally wrong, though...
Let me know what else you find out.
