Data driven test in old Winrunner 5.02
Currently I started at a company and for (manual) testing purposes, I need WinRunner to create lots of records. Unfortunately, transfering data to the data seems technically impossible so I started experimenting with WinRunner.
Record and play-back works fine. Now I want to attach my Excel-sheet to this test,so I can let the system work overnight to insert all the record, using the application to test.
My problem: If I use these DDT-functions, for some reason, nothing happens. I can open anything I want: no errors are returned.
Updating WinRunner will at least take 3 months.....
Can someone provide me with a working script, providing the location of the files and the paths etc.
Also I need some code to check whether of not the data file is crrectly opened.
Thanx in advance and enjoy your weekend.

Refer to the online User's Guide - Creating Tests section. Get a tutorial and go through it. Many people in this forum could provide you with the code. But, wouldn't it be better if you did the work and felt the rewards of accomplishing something?
The files/paths are up to you!
Hint on the ddt functions - if you are not getting errors, this is probably good. You could easily check to see if you are "seeing" the data from the spreadsheet by using the debugging capabilities within WinRunner.
