how to parse html source?

I did a view source, save as, then specify a full path.
Then open the file created, and read it line by line.
You will need to know something about what you are looking for. In my case
I knew the text I was after and used them to determine other features.
Of note, if you plan on using different browsers, you will need different code for each one.
