html_text_link that breaks across 2 lines
User (firstname.lastname@example.org) posted:
I know I read something about this before, but can't remember where...
I've got a web page where a link breaks across 2 lines. The link
is 'New Search', where 'New' is at the far right of line 1
and 'Search' is at the far left of line 2. In this situation,
WinRunner cannot click the link. If I maximize the browser window,
the link is then on one line, but another link 'Save Search' breaks
across the lines. Is there a way to get around this problem without
having to resize the browser on a case by case basis?

This sounds like poor and inconsistent coding by the people developing your
web application. I had similar problems on our application where the
deveopers had used 3 different methods of getting text links on the screen
which would then be displayed in different ways (some not really acceptable)
according to the size of the invoked browser. In your case I suggest that to
solve your problem you need to get the code fixed, rather than try to "fix"
WR. For example if the link text is 'New Search' then it should be coded as
written not, for example as 'New<new line>Search' or 'New<tab(s)>Search'
