I would like to add some points for this.
To make scripts independent of machine, we need to restrict our use
of automatic recording.It really creates problem.U can soft code the
variables so than they can be configured on different machines and
also avoid script tampering in long run.

different machine - a "script server".
2) Machines become "different" when software
