Advanced WinRunner User Group
User (firstname.lastname@example.org) posted:
It has been two years since this group started, since then the
membership has swelled to around 2000 users, Many have benefitted and
increased their expertise in WR, The time has come to move on to
loftier goals, today I have created the Advanced-Winrunner user
The idea is to focus on complex and challenging issues which
sometimes get lost in the flood of messages from the current group we
are on. All WinRunner users who consider themselves as intermediet to
advanced, please take time to also join this group by sending an
email to Advanced-Winrunneremail@example.com.
The address of this group is Advanced-Winrunner@yahoogroups.com.
Re: Advanced WinRunner User Group
I myself am against creating another User Group. Simply because of the following facts:
1. A user group is designed to help everyone, not just a sub group.
2. If you state only intermediate to advanced people should join, isn't that discrimination? (also applies to divide & concur)
3. You cannot stop beginners from joining your group to get help... A person in need of help tries to get it from a person who has the knowledge (usually an advanced person) so if you create a group with all adnaced people, who are you supposed to help???
4. The idea behind a User Group is to share information, not restrict it!
I myself have created a WinRunner web-based forum at http://www.qaforums.com a couple of years ago for that exact purpose. I never tried to make people leave this list and join the forum, on the contrary, I tried to make my users join the list also to have 1 shared place of information. Not many....
I vote NOT to join the new "advanced group"
Thanks for listening.
