anyone else having trouble with obj_get_text?
I can't seem to get this function to work anywhere. I've tried in my AUT, notepad, windows calculator, even the desktop.
Support pointed me to obj_get_info() and the edit_get_text function which works better in notepad, but not in my AUT.
I've got a control (AfxWnd42) that is implemented as a tab control used to change graphical views within my app. The tabs have text on them, but WinRunner can't recognize that text.
I need to be able to click on the text, but since WR doesn't know that there is text there, obj_click_on_text() won't work.
Also, I can't use X,Y coordinates since the tabs chage size based on which language is used (English, German, French).
Re: anyone else having trouble with obj_get_text?
No troubles with obj_get_text here - the problem possibly lies in the class of the object against which you are executing the call.
"AfxWnd42" sounds like some kind of custom class which may not be recognised by WR.
If is the case, standard WR calls (obj_get_text etc) might not work correctly - try mapping the custom class to a standard WR class.
On the off-chance WR recognises this tab control, you should first take a look at the 'tab_' functions in WR, especially 'tab_select_item'.
Hope this helps,
PS Ctrl-Tab is the keystroke which moves the selected leaf on a tab if all else fails.
