    Restoring an Applications Initial State

    Does anyone how, if WinRunner supports the use of Appstates, or are there any libraries available to provide this functionality. Or simply does this need to be coded from scratch.

    You sound like someone who has worked with Silk. Unfortunately WinRunner provides no built-in recovery or "appstate" like capabilities. You need to code recovery functions yourself--and more problematic--deal with unknown pending modals when tests terminate ungracefully, leaving your app in an unknown state].
