Testing JAVA application using Winrunner
My application is developed using JAVA , but does not use any Browsers. When I use winrunner for testing this application, the GUI components present in the window are not captured...inturn I am not able to further proceed in scripting.
Thanks in advance.
Re: Testing JAVA application using Winrunner
I am guessing from you description that you have not correctly "integrated" the standalone Java application with WinRunner.
Getting the Java Add-in correctly installed and integrated with WinRunner is laborious. Then you need to get a WinRunner supplied jar into the CLASSPATH def [or so I remember; its been about 10 months since I did this with version 6.x]. Carefully follow the special user's guide that comes with the Java Add-In to achieve these steps.
One of the pitfalls: the instructions they provide assume that the CLASSPATH is statically defined [for example in your autoexec.bat file, or the the NT environment settings]. This is often not the case when the Java app you want to test is started up with a batch file [quite common]. In that situation the batch file often defines the CLASSPATH for the lifetime of the batch files execution; if this is the case you need to modify the batch file's CLASSPATH as well.
Hope this helps.
