Automated Testing in a Windows Terminal Server Environment.
We currently have Compuware’s automated testing products for functional testing (QA Run) and performance testing (QA Load). With our load tool we have the capability of simulating loads for character based applications, as well as web based applications. Some of our applications are moving towards a Windows Terminal Server (Citrix) configuration and we have been told by the vendor that this configuration is not supported by their QA Load product, although it is supported by QA Run. Has anyone had experience with products that are capable of generating load in a Windows Terminal environment? My initial thought is to generate load against the application directly without going through the Windows Terminal environment and while there is a load on the application running a user through the Windows Terminal configuration and capturing those response times. I am not certain that this will give us realistic or even useful information. Any thoughts on this subject would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
