I have installed Winrunner 6.0 and tried to record
.........objects/windows on web pages.
While recording with Winrunner it only records
Object_mouse_click function for all windows and objects.
I am using IE5 and it has to record functions like web_image_click and edit_text functions.
Could any one please suggest
any registrations for web testing in GUI configuratiuon are required before using it.

There is a bug where the parts of the browser are not recognized. I ran into this on one machine I was trying to test with.
Mercury's support was able to tell me how to fix this right away.
They also forwarded me some instructions for later on if it happened again, but the IS person in our office decided to delete the entire companies mail files, and they didn't have a good backup...UGH!...so I don't have a copy of those instructions to pass along.
Call 1-800-TEST-911 and they should be able to help.
I had the very same problem and followed this piece of advice from another newsgroup:

In earlier versions IE 5.0 (IE 5.00.2919 works ok) you could not have more than one Browser Helper Object. When this happens WinRunner will not recognizing previously learned objects.
You need to go to the registry and delete “Browser Helper Objects” folder.
Start | Run | regedit | Hkey_Local_Machine |
Software | Microsoft | Windows | Current Version | explorer | Browser Helper Objects ß delete this folder.
This did not happen in IE 4.0. If you have this problem you need to download a newer version of IE.
I guess you already fixed the problem, howeved if it keeps reoccuring and you have an earlier ver of IE 5.0, you might try this.
