    web_sync()

    I keep getting a web_sync timed out dialog box when my script runs asking me to continue or pause. What is the best way to handle this so I do not get this dialogue pause?

    Re: web_sync()

    Try increasing your "wait for browser ready" timeout by placing the following code statement at the start of your failing testcase:

    web_set_timeout(60);

    The built in default is [suppose to be, according to Support] 20 seconds. I recommend a setting of 60 seconds [to allow pages to load reliably over an ever varying Internet loaded with traffic].

    Hopefully this will help.

    Also note that I wrote a detailed overview of setting timeouts when using the WebTest addin. It was posted to this forum on March 10, 2000 and the posting is titled: "Setting WebTest Timeouts". There are many good tidbits in this article which are not readily apparent from the documentation nor the online help.

    Re: web_sync()

    User Farah Khan (fnkhan27@hotmail.com) posted:

    When using AS400 because the server is very slow my e-finance tests fall
    over with a web_sync timeout. I've tried setting web_syncs &
    web_set_timeout's at different points in my tests but this hasn't solved the
    problem.

    my other solution was to use an exception handler:

    Exception name: Except_E_Timeout
    Handler name: Handle_E_Timeout
    function: any
    return code: E_TIMEOUT

    This hasn't stopped the timeout from occuring! Any ideas .... ?

    Re: web_sync()

    One way to avoid this is to go to Settings, General Options, then run and click off "Break when verification fails", errors will still occur, however you will not be prompted...
