Sockets from TSL
Does anybody have an idea or maybe implementation of dealing with sockets from within TSL. I know that there is a DLL wsock32.dll, wich contains all winsockets functionality, but TSL does not support "structure" data type and a great deal of functions in the DLL requires a pointer to a structure as a parameter.
Probably, there is a "wrapper" for sockets' functions that accepts a list of parameters instead of a pointer. I guess it has to be another DLL.
Re: Sockets from TSL
One idea would be to use PERL for win32 and call PERL scripts from WinRunner. You could build the input / PERL scripts dynamically from WinRunner and then run them. PERL has lots of nifty socket functions that allow you to deal with plain sockets, telnet, ftp, and http. (So you don't have to start from scratch.) You can also use Mercury's LoadRunner product to record socket communication.
You can get win32 PERL from http://www.activestate.com/
