WinRunner w/ Delphi Add On
Is anybody else out there using the Delphi Add-On?
We're installing the WinRunner Delphi 4.0 Add-On tomorrow, to automate regression testing for a large workflow application that includes a complex, multi thread wizard.
I'm anticipating challenges.....they say Dephi 4.0 still has a few bugs, and the WinRunner Delphi 4.0 Add-On is hot off the presses too.
Re: WinRunner w/ Delphi Add On
I'm relatively new to WinRunner and have found that using the Delphi addin makes the learning curve much steeper.
It is very poorly documented (read: not documented) and I've found only one support engineer at Mercury that knows enough about the addin to be helpful.
Also beware of nonstandard Delphi components in your project. The addin will make allow WR to recognize standard grids, but all bets are off if you extensively use 3rd party packages in your Delphi program.
To interface with nonstandard components you might need to start writing DLLs with capture functions - difficult since Mercury is not very forthcoming with the source for the Delphi DLLs included in the addin.
