It probably points to the reasoning that the new version of JRE is not supported by the Java plug in.
I no longer have access to WinRunner or the documentation for the tool, but the README file that comes installed with the program and the plug ins will tell you specifically what version are supported.
Check that file and see if your version of JRE is supported, but I am leaning toward not as it is a more recent version that support would only continue under the QTP tool

I am very sure that the Add-in no longer supports the latest available JRE(6update11).
But earlier when I had migrated from JRE1.4 to JRE 1.6 I had used a patch WR76JP18.
It was available in Mercury site.
But as for now I am not getting any support from HP people.
