can you vbs scripts via cscript in winrunner?
I'm trying to get as much of my vbs scripts generic so as to run them via winrunner (as long as they are not qtp specific) and then if I have to used another scripting language that both can use - I'll use python - but first can any pure vbs scripts be run via cscript in winrunner?
Re: can you vbs scripts via cscript in winrunner?
WinRunner uses neither vb script or C script for its language, instead it uses a language optimized for the exercise of graphical elements called TSL (Test Script Language). Many of the flow control options (looping, conditionals, etc..) are C derived in TSL, as they are for other languages, such as Java and Perl.
As far as executing your VB inside of the WR shell, you're going to be out of luck. Per design, you may call a QTP script from within a WinRunner script, which would allow for the execution of your VB under a different shell, or you may "shell out" to the OS and execute the code as a standalone VB script, taking advantage of some sort of file based synchronization mechanism. to pull data back from the script.
