Do you have any idea how many concurrent sessions on WinRunner we can run on a Terminal Server??? I know that 2 threads work, but i havent tried any more, and was wondering if there is a specified upper limit for this. I have noticed that the box becomes considerably slower when it has multiple threads of WinRunner running. I would really appreciate it if anybody could share whatever information they have on this with me.
Thanks for the response. Could you also tell how i can find out what my WR license permits? Is there any particular file which details this information? I will check on the server configurations as well.
WinRunner comes in Node Locked, Floating (area) and Global license flavors. if you have node locked your license agreement notes that you are prevented from created more virtualized instances than you have licenses for. if you have a floating license model, then when WinRunner starts it should check to see if a valid license instance is available for your execution.
Note, none of the licenses allow for remote access via remote desktop. As you are in Bangalore, if your terminal server is located on a different continent and you are accessing your environment via remote desktop or other remote technology without having a Global license, then the odds are considerably high that you and your client are violating the WinRunner license agreement associated with license type and allowable access methods.
