obj_find_text when \'text\' appears multiple times

I have a list object with multiple entries, one of which is a subset of another, for example
car w/hitch

When I use obj_find_text to find the 'car' entry
obj_find_text(list, "car", array, TRUE);
I get the 'car w/ hitch' entry, not the 'car' entry. I'm sure there's a simple solution to my problem, but nothing I've tried has worked.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

obj_find_text is a "function of last resort." Does WinRunner not recognize the object as something more manageable? Your refer to it as a "list object." If WR sees it as that, you can use the list_... functions.

thanks -- list_select_item did the trick (well mostly)

that will teach me to assume existing test code is correct
