I am new to Test Director, and i would like to know about the defect:
Me and one guy are working in the same project, each of us logged bugs.Is there any way that he should not able to see my bugs and i should not able to see his bugs?
Please let me know soon as i am struck with this problem.
You see TD works like a repository of projects so there is no way that You cannot see each others defects after you have logged them, because once you hit that submit button it is already stored in TD anyone who has rights/privileges can see what defects you have logged..
The administrator can define a data-hiding filter for a given group. If you are the only two people working on the same project, the administrator can define two different groups with two different data-hiding filters based on the "detected by" or "responsible" fields and put you in one group and your buddy in the other one. The total number of user groups is limited to 32, so this cannot be extended beyond a small group of users.
Anyway, it's not a so good idea to hide defects as there is always something to learn from someone else's mistakes... But I understand that in some contexts, and for security reasons, it's advisable / mandatory to do so.
