I expect to be barked at for this, but Mercury Support provides the following precise and detailed explanation/solution.

Problem Description: Error: "Compile error in hidden module: CTDServers" when using the Excel macro
When using the Excel macro to export data into a TestDirector 7.6 project, the following error message appears:
"Compile error in hidden module: CTDServers."
Diagnosis:The macro may not have been started properly.
Solution: Open the TDExcelAddin.xla file manually
1. Open Excel.
2. Go to File -> Open.
3. Open your "\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\XLStart\TDExcelAddin.xla" file.
The problem should go away after doing this once.
If the problem still persist, proceed to un-install and re-install the Excel Macro.
1. Select Start -> Settings -> Add/Remove Programs.
2. Select "TestDirector Microsoft Excel Add-in" to un-install the Excel Macro.
3. Download and re-install the Excel Macro from the TestDirector Add-in page.
Actually, I tried a different workaround and it worked BUT now I am stuck at a completely different problem.
Actually, the Addins that I installed initially was MS Excel Addins for TD 8.0. Since I was using TD 7.6, I downloaded MS Excel Addins for 7.6 and it worked for me.
Now, here is a new issue that I am facing.
I want TD to connect to a server on external network(my Customer's server) for the export process. On the very first step of the wizard, where it requires the server name for connection, I entered the same server url and it FAILED TO CONNECT.
Is there any workaround so that TD could establish a connection to my customer's server (which I am able to access using internet)?
Is it that TD CANNOT access any external server?
