How to change default Requirement Report for requirement tracebility matrix
I am quite new to TD and using TD 8.0 SP2
I need a report like this.
ReqId, Name, Description, Direct Cover Status, Test Name, Type, Execution Status
I need all these fields in a single row and if possible i want to get a excel file of this report.
I am getting a report in TD (with modification) of all these fields but Test Name, Type, Execution Status are in a different row with different table and Description is again another table in another row. This report is in html format.
I found out that there is a stylesheet "default.xsl" and i think if i can change this properly then i will be able to get the required report. I tried to understand this stylesheet but couldnt findout much.
If anyone of you have already changed this stylesheet or if you can tell me what changes should i do in this stylesheet to get a report as i explained above it will be really great of you. Is there any way to get a report directly in excel format instead of html format.
I tried to search on forum and got some good threads about report but still could not find anything related to my problem.

You can take a report as you like in TD from Database by Query.
How to get the report.
Install Sql client
Get the database access only readonly is enough
Then go the Archietecture help guide.
Find out the tables for req,testplan,testlab and defects,
Identify the fields in the database.
Write a sql query
Pull the data and save it as excel.
Thats it ure traceability matrix as per ure requirement is ready.
